The only way to do great work is to love what you do.

Assistant Psychologists

Lilliana

Hi, I’m Lilliana and I am an aspiring Clinical Psychologist. I graduated with a BSc in Psychology last year and am currently gaining experience in psychology-related settings, including working with neurodiverse individuals and beginning my journey as an Assistant Psychologist. I was initially drawn to psychology by the realisation that our minds profoundly influence our actions. I'm fascinated by its constant evolution as a science, that it encourages critical thinking and offers endless opportunities for contribution. Outside of psychology, I'm passionate about music and creativity. I play piano and guitar, sing, and have recently started exploring watercolour painting. I'm excited to join this community and eager to learn from and contribute to the field!

Elaha

Hi there! I’m Elaha, and I recently graduated from King’s College London with a master’s in Developmental Psychology and Psychopathology. My dissertation explored how tough life experiences and mental health struggles might actually leave a mark on our cells, specifically, whether they’re linked to faster aging. It’s a deep topic, but I love digging into the ways our minds and bodies are connected.

Right now, I’m working as an honorary assistant psychologist with Dr. Avesta, interning in mental health research, and volunteering at the Alzheimer’s Society. My big goal? To earn my doctorate in clinical psychology and become a clinical neuropsychologist.

How It All Started

Believe it or not, my interest in psychology began in a Latin class! We were studying Seneca the Younger, a Stoic philosopher who wrote about “diseases of the soul” (basically, mental health) way back in ancient Rome. He argued that mental and physical health are equally important, but people often ignore mental struggles because they’re not as visible. One line stuck with me: “The evil that afflicts us is not external; it is within us… we don’t even know we’re diseased.” That idea, that our minds need just as much care as our bodies, totally fascinated me and led me to psychology.

Outside of Work

When I’m not researching or volunteering, you might find me training for the Walk For A Cure event with Alzheimer’s Research UK. I’m doing a 5km walk in London on June 8th to raise funds, it’s a small way to contribute to a cause I care about.
