Individual counseling services are the most common choice when beginning therapy. Sessions are designed to help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. Therapy can feel scary and there might be a lot of uncertainty around this process, especially if this is your first time. It is my job to help you process those feelings and also think about ways in which this journey can feel most comfortable - however, I do believe that a level of discomfort is completely normal and many people might experience feeling worse before they start to feel better. Therapy can also be exciting and help you to discover parts of yourself that needed cultivating. This is why I like to help individuals work on their 'Healthy adult' part. Therapy can be a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behaviour, and develop strategies for positive change. Sessions are 50 minutes long and I would recommend weekly sessions to begin with, this usually changes once you start to see progress and feel ready to take larger gaps in between sessions.
Family counseling services are designed to help families overcome challenges related to communication, conflict, and other issues. Therapy can work with families to identify strengths and weaknesses, improve communication and problem-solving skills, and develop a stronger sense of cohesion and support.
Child and adolescent counseling services are designed to help young people overcome a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and more. Anxiety and depression is unfortunately ever growing in our society due to various factors, and teachers might be unable to sufficiently support each child/young people. Due to this, it is important to find a therapist who can support your child during a crucial developmental stage - to help them find their sense of self, to build on their confidence and to help them express their emotions. I use evidence-based techniques to help children and teens develop coping skills, improve self-esteem, and achieve greater success in school and other areas of life. I also have experience of play therapy for younger children and those who might need an alternative creative approach.

I have a keen interest in the 'Tree of Life' - innovated by Ncazelo Ncube and used across cultures due to its success. This intervention blends traditional therapeutic techniques with a holistic approach rooted in nature symbolism. Drawing inspiration from the interconnectedness of nature, this intervention seeks to empower individuals by exploring their personal narratives within the context of their ancestral roots and life experiences. By visualizing one's life journey as a tree, clients engage in a reflective process that nurtures self-awareness, resilience, and growth. Through guided sessions, I facilitate a deep exploration of clients' strengths, challenges, and aspirations, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose. This unique therapeutic approach encourages clients to reconnect with their inner strength, tap into their innate wisdom, and embrace transformative change. Tree of Life groups will start in Summer 2024.
Schema therapy is an approach that I am passionate about. It is an approach which was developed to support those with Borderline personality disorders and is now used to help those with various diagnoses and difficulties. Having completed a specialised workshop on 'Schema therapy', I focus on helping clients to heal their inner child. Grounded in compassion and understanding, Schema Therapy delves deep into uncovering and addressing the emotional wounds and maladaptive patterns rooted in early childhood experiences. Through a nurturing and supportive therapeutic environment, clients are guided to explore and reframe core beliefs and schemas that developed during their formative years. As with any therapy, a safe space is essential to reconnecting with our younger selves, a place where validation, empathy, and gentle guidance can be offered. By fostering a compassionate relationship with their inner child, clients develop resilience, self-compassion, and a sense of wholeness.
Although a page dedicated especially to the Afghan diaspora and those from Afghanistan, anyone from a diaspora community may share common narratives and experiences. Providing services to those in my community and background is incredibly important. I aim to destigmatise mental health by providing affordable, accessible therapy for those from diaspora communities.
